my face and manila

i live in metro manila and i take public transportation to and from work. i breathe, eat, and live smoke and pollution -- and so does my face. i don't care about my lungs; i care about my face. my face is a civilization of nasty oil glands and it thrives in this environment. i try to fight my face with oil-control films but it's futile because this face is spoiled by the city.

i blame the politicians and the government for this dilemma. if it isn't for the congested roads, the lack of efficient traffic system, and the fumes from ancient buses and jeepneys, this face wouldn't be as oily. or at least the oil would be clean enough to be edible. the oiliness of my face is not a problem -- it is a social issue. it reflects the kind of society that we live in. the shinier my face gets, the more social issues are revealed, the more third world we look like.

or maybe... maybe i should just leave... tutal naman, mukang mas bagay sa first world ang mukha kong ito...
