totally random post-Christmas adventure to the end of the world

The UPLB Perspective contingent went on a road trip in Laguna. Because Jay’s driving skills are only good on locations with lower elevation than Caliraya, they decided to go to Liliw when I texted Ai that I finally woke up (that was 11:30 am). They arrived after an hour and we had lunch in our house. A Liliw trip will not be complete if we don’t go to the tsinelasan (stores of slippers) so off we go. We also decided we’d have coffee afterwards.

Liliw Church

Ai, Seph, Kei, and Jay on our street

Jay, sleep walking

Seph, guy I haven't seen since graduating from college

Ai, sitting in front of a store for slipper materials

Kei, checking out the shoes

We had coffee and cake at Arabela's

It should have ended there for me, but I was enticed by Ai's goal to see the next day's sunrise on the beach. I just texted my mom and then we were off to nowhere looking for the nearest beach resort. We did some stop overs to buy stuff and ask for location.

We finally reached Monte Vista Beach Resort in Sariaya, Quezon. It was 3 hours away from our house. We had dinner and lambanog. Our neighbor provided entertainment with their bonfire and fireworks.

The following morning was a combination of cold winds, blue gray sky, dark sand, and the sound of the water reaching the shore. It was a scene at the end of the world.

But wait, there's more! Oo, hindi pa nagtatapos ang lahat. We saw a big ship...

...on land.

I thought it was a hotel, but it turned out that it's a training facility for maritime schools. Amazing, no?

We met Mr. Engineer, who didn't want his picture taken because it might be sold in Quiapo. He was so nice that he let us tour the ship.

After having a sumptuous breakfast, it was time to go home. For me, it was work that afternoon. Lol. Ako na ang corporate slave, sabi nga ni Ai.

Looking forward to more adventures in 2012!
